Overview
The Community Engagement Manager will join AMPYRs development business to design and implement effective community and stakeholder engagement initiatives during the development and construction phases across a growing portfolio of battery projects.

Responsibilities
Community and Neighbour Engagement
- Lead engagement with nearby neighbours, community members and key project stakeholders.
- Establish and work with stakeholder reference committees.
- Actively listen to community concerns, understand impacts and where possible work with the project team to co-design solutions that address these.
- Develop and deliver benefit-sharing commitments in collaboration with the community.
Government and Council engagement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with local councils, including supporting the project team to negotiate secondary consents with Council.
- Support coordination of community and stakeholder engagement with regulatory and approval processes.
Jobs, training and business opportunities
- Work with the project team, contractors and local businesses, industry groups and training providers support local and First Nations people and business access jobs, training and business opportunities, including through delivery of identified AMPYR initiatives and partnerships.
Internal coordination
- Work with origination and construction teams to integrate community considerations into project delivery
- Support consistent and best-practice engagement and communications
- Support continuous improvement in AMPYR’s approach to engagement and local communications
Monitoring and Reporting
- Help track and report on community investment and participation outcomes
- Maintain clear records of engagement activities
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or communications
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to establish and run reference groups
- Ability to manage sensitive issues and build trust with communities
- Current driver’s licence
- Alignment with AGP values
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet community needs
- Strong written and verbal skills
Desirable
- Good understanding of the development process for renewable energy
- Experienced in the applied use of AI
- Ability to think strategically using researched information and insights to communities to remove barriers for success
